Founder's Day 2003

Founder's Day 2002 was an interesting, if tightly focused experience for me. With hope in my heart, and a strange sense of foreboding in my gut, I decided to head back up to Vassar for this year's version. In order to make myself
useful and desirable company, I brought the camera.

| After yet another thrilling misadventure with missed trains, I got to Vassar later than I had planned. Luckily, I was just in time for VassarJesse's birthday party. When I arrived, he hadn't shown up, so it
was temporarily decided that it was my birthday party instead. Unfortunately, the bastard had the temerity to interrupt by arriving at his own party. Here we see him coming through the door. Next comes an Edd -- always a treat.
And VJesse recieves his birthday forty of malt liquor, followed by the lovely Joanna and the top of the lovely Cami's head. |

| Believe it or not, that first shot of Erica is the better of two; she tends to photograph better than that. Matt's tongue is utterly thrilling, and you can see Edd waiting patiently for it to re-emerge in the next shot.
After that, a shot of Molly -- who I met for the first time that night, and who was definitely worth the effort of talking to. Oh, and Neal thinks he's the prettiest. He is silly, I am still the prettiest. |
| Now I must comfort Neal over his lack of prettiest-ness. *Pat pat* for Neal. Cradling Molly in the next two shots is some guy named Dave, about whom I know very little -- but I like his hat. There was a thrilling array of liquid
comestibles available at the party; a fact to which Marc can attest, though he appears to be on some sort of starvation diet in this shot. |
| It wouldn't be a party without a shot of Dillon, the Wonder-Homo. Yay for Dillon! And with that, Neal, VJesse and I adjourn to the downstairs lounge, to sit and be stupid about girls. The conversation was stimulating, as
you can clearly see from the shots above. |
| Neal has a fondness for flashing the good old double-bird while smiling like an idiot. This is Edd's job, and she's obviously quite unhappy about his blowing up of her spot. The second shot in the above row shows Joanna and Edd's
list of rules for their room -- a list that includes nipple tape, thus explaining my tragic lack of nipple tape on this trip. Speaking of nipples, Matt took that last shot, not I. |

| A frazzled and groggy-looking Cami joined us for breakfast the next morning. Someone had the sheer gall to try to photograph me, but I thwarted them by coming out just as horribly as I always do. In the last shot, we can
see Matt, going through his latino-with-a-lip-piercing phase. |
| I attempted to demonstrate my own perception of how I came out on film, and Matt caught it on film -- a self-fulfilling prophecy in action. The girl in the second shot sparked some sort of mystical attention in me -- I simply
had to photograph her. Then, I followed Edd and Neal to the Founder's Day celebrations. I quickly joined with a group of Vassarites already there, such as Kari (left) and Marc (right). |

| I wondered aloud about the possibility of near-naked students, and was immediately rewarded with a bikini'd Joanna. Immediately after, I realized something awful: I had neglected to bring my Rubik's Cube out to the field.
How would Neal and I demonstrate the girth of our geek-penises now? To avert disaster, Neal lef me back to JoEddia to pick up the cube. We took the scenic route through a garden, and I synchronized my watch against the sundial. In the last
shot, we see the fruits of our labors, as Erica fiddles with the aforementioned cube. |
| The theme of the year was Dr. Seuss, and Marc's hat was apropos... and oddly suited him. I turned around and recieved quite a shock -- the girl from breakfast was standing not ten feet from me, and (girl of my dreams) she was playing with sticks!
In my moment of distraction, someone stole my camera and proceeded to take many shots with it; including the above group shot, shot of Molly, and shot of Erica picking up yet another stick. |
| More sticks, which obviously shocked and disturbed Neal. Next, three new players in this photo-drama: George, Alan, and Chris. Say hello, folks. |
